Senior Software Engineer (USA-Only)

Friday Jobs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software products and systems. The role involves working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality features from concept through production.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable applications and services
• Develop new product features and improve existing systems
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define requirements and technical solutions
• Build and maintain APIs, databases, integrations, and supporting infrastructure
• Improve application performance, reliability, security, and maintainability
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical planning
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions
• Mentor other engineers and help establish strong engineering practices
• Contribute to features that may incorporate AI, machine learning, or third-party AI services
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend tools that support product and business goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, or C++
• Experience designing and supporting production applications, APIs, or distributed systems
• Strong understanding of databases, data structures, algorithms, testing, version control, and software design principles
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Ability to lead technical projects and make thoughtful architectural decisions
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data-driven product features
• Experience integrating machine learning models, large language models, or AI-powered APIs into software products
• Experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform
• Familiarity with modern frontend or backend frameworks
• Experience working in an agile product-development environment
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading cross-functional technical initiatives
