Senior Software Engineer

Emergent Software is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their product engineering team and play a key role in modernizing their platform architecture. The ideal candidate will manage technical projects, design scalable applications, and collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage technical projects from planning and design through implementation and delivery
• Serve as a senior technical contributor, balancing hands-on software development with technical leadership responsibilities
• Design scalable applications and make architecture decisions that support long-term growth and performance
• Help drive modernization efforts, including the transition from a monolithic system to service-oriented architectures and cloud-based solutions
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and external development teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives
• Evaluate and recommend AWS services and infrastructure patterns based on technical and business requirements
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance when needed, helping strengthen overall engineering capabilities
• Communicate technical concepts, tradeoffs, and implementation plans clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

• Strong experience developing applications with .NET and C#
• Experience working with SQL Server and relational database design
• Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure
• Experience developing modern web applications using React
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and application scalability
• Ability to lead projects and influence technical direction without necessarily holding a formal leadership title
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience serving as a technical expert, project lead, or unofficial team leader
• Experience with cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, and service-oriented design patterns
• Experience partnering with offshore, nearshore, or external development teams
• Interest in future leadership opportunities and mentoring other engineers
