Production & Inventory Planning Manager

The Production & Inventory Planning Manager will create and monitor production forecasts, manage the overall production planning process, and communicate effectively with various teams to ensure inventory health and alignment with sales plans.

Responsibilities:

• Create and monitor the company's production forecasts
• Communicate forecasts to the company's labs across product lines
• Create and assess weekly master production plans, identify risks to forecasts, and problem solve supply gaps to demand
• Own cash outlay from the production plan, balancing purchase timing and quantities against cash flow constraints
• Assist with the rollout of a full S&OP process for the company
• Clearly communicate inventory health to cross-functional teams, highlighting shortfalls to demand and mitigation plans in an effort to support sales plans and minimize any negative impact to sales
• Adjust production plans based on production over/under runs and changing demand
• Work with our labs and third party warehouse operators to maintain an accurate view of our current inventory and projected inventory over time
• Partner closely and regularly with the rest of the team to assist with procurement of supplies, accessories, and new product development
• Assist with inventory allocation decisions across our omni-channel business (DTC, wholesale, retail)
• Create ad hoc and 'what if' analyses to assess the feasibility and implications of different production scenarios and other analyses as needed
• Own daily and weekly communications with contract labs and component suppliers, including order status, lead time updates, and issue escalation
• Coordinate with vendors on production schedules, capacity planning, and PO changes or expedites
• Track open POs against confirmed ship dates and flag risks to delivery timelines
• Escalate vendor performance issues, quality concerns, and delivery misses to the Director of Supply Chain
• Support vendor scorecard reviews by providing PO-level data on delivery and fill rate performance

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum of 5-7 years of consumer goods manufacturing scheduling and planning and/or inventory management
• Understanding of manufacturing and production environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Strong spreadsheet skills in Microsoft Excel required
• Strong computer skills in other Google Docs/Microsoft Office Tools a plus
• Project Management experience a plus (Gantt charts)
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience in beauty/personal care a plus
• A proactive analytical thinker who can use spreadsheets and ideally, ERP planning tools
• Someone who can work on multiple projects independently
