JOB DESCRIPTION
Teaching Assistant
The Teaching Assistant will support the professor(s) in various administrative and operational tasks.
Fall Teaching Assistant SPHU 1020-03 Cell, Individual & Community (WSPH TA)
MWF10:00am - 10:50 am
Professor Sarah Michaels
Assist with grading quizzes, homework assignments and other written assignments, providing instruction and feedback to students
•Grading is done through Canvas; a rubric or key will be provided
•Grades should generally be posted within 1 week of assignment submission
Support email communications through the Canvas learning platform
•Answer student questions within 72 hours (weekends excluded)
Attend classes as needed
•At least one class meeting per week
•Assist with group activities
•Manage student participation
•Assist with arranging guest speakers
•Optional: give a presentation and/ or lead a class activity
Hold office hours, at least 1 session of 2 hours per week
Preferred TA qualifications: Prior knowledge of infectious disease, pathogen biology and transmission.
