POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent will actively work with the Dive Manager on all current dive projects prospects to ensure safe, efficient and timely completion of dive projects. The incumbent will also work closely with the Diving Supervisor, Divers and Dive Tenders. If the diving activities are in support of Company’s project work, the incumbent may also work closely with the Project Manager, Project Superintendent and other Company personnel.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of ten (10) years diving and marine operations experience and proof of successful completion of dive training from a certified dive school is required. Prior experience in supervising or managing dive operations is essential. In addition, the incumbent must be well versed in the planning, procurement, mobilization, logistics, and regulatory compliance aspects of the business. Must also be knowledgeable in all aspects of safe diving operations and possess aptitude and skills to oversee and manage underwater marine projects to completion.
The incumbent must also 1) be well organized to effectively manage multiple diving projects, 2) be committed to high work performance standards, 3) be able to influence and motivate dive team members, and 4) possess excellent communication skills.
The Company expects and requires incumbent and each of its other employees to observe and fulfill the above and all other safety responsibilities and actively work toward maintaining a safe workplace. Failure to do so can result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
This individual must also have the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, including corporate.
The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency situation arise.
In addition, the Dive Superintendent must also be capable of:
