Software Engineer

Finstock, Inc. builds AI-powered financial research and market intelligence tools for experienced investors and institutions. They are seeking a Software Engineer to help build, maintain, and scale their financial research platform, collaborating with various teams to develop secure and reliable software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain features for Finstock’s financial research and market intelligence platform
• Develop secure, reliable, and scalable backend services, APIs, and internal systems
• Build and improve dashboards, research tools, analytics features, and user-facing product workflows
• Integrate market data, company information, financial statements, research metadata, analytics outputs, and approved third-party APIs
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, data teams, AI engineers, analysts, and designers
• Translate product and research requirements into maintainable, production-ready software
• Write clean, tested, well-documented, and reusable code
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical planning, and engineering design decisions
• Improve system performance, reliability, observability, security, and error handling
• Troubleshoot production issues and support incident investigation and resolution
• Contribute to CI/CD workflows, automated testing, documentation, and engineering standards
• Follow internal security, privacy, confidentiality, and data-handling requirements

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of professional experience in software engineering, backend engineering, full-stack engineering, or a related role
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as: Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, Java, Go, C#
• Experience building production-grade APIs, backend services, web applications, or internal engineering tools
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar systems
• Familiarity with frontend or full-stack frameworks such as React, Next.js, Angular, Vue, or equivalent technologies
• Experience with AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud environment
• Understanding of: Software architecture, API design, Authentication and authorization, Testing and debugging, Version control, Secure coding practices
• Experience using Git, GitHub, CI/CD tools, issue-tracking systems, and remote engineering workflows
• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to engineering quality, and ownership mindset
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment
• Commitment to protecting financial, company, and user-related data
• Ability to work remotely in compliance with the legal and eligibility requirements applicable to your location
• Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly valued: Fintech products, financial market data, investment research platforms, trading analytics, or capital markets infrastructure
• Financial data concepts, including equities, ETFs, indices, FX, crypto assets, commodities, fundamentals, filings, and corporate actions
• Python-based financial tools, analytics workflows, or data-processing libraries
• Backend frameworks such as Node.js, FastAPI, Django, Flask, NestJS, or GraphQL
• PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, vector databases, or time-series databases
• Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, and cloud deployment workflows
• Monitoring, observability, application security, and incident response
• AI-assisted products, LLM features, retrieval systems, search platforms, or research automation tools
• Enterprise SaaS features, permission systems, secure user workspaces, or audit trails
