DevOps & Cloud Engineer (Talent pool)

Lago is a curated talent marketplace connecting exceptional professionals with innovative global companies. They are seeking a DevOps & Cloud Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure using infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deployment processes
• Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS)
• Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or CloudWatch
• Ensure system reliability, availability, and performance, leading incident response and post-mortem processes
• Manage cloud cost optimization and enforce infrastructure best practices
• Implement and maintain security controls across the infrastructure including IAM, secrets management, and network security
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve developer experience, tooling, and deployment workflows
• Manage environment configuration, secrets management, and environment parity
• Maintain infrastructure documentation and runbooks

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or CircleCI
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Bash, Python, or Go)
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud architecture principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional environment for team calls
• Availability to work US time zones
• Comfortable working as an independent contractor
• Cloud certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, GCP Professional, or Azure Administrator
• Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
• Knowledge of GitOps workflows such as ArgoCD or Flux
• Experience with database management and scaling in cloud environments
• Familiarity with security compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001
• Experience in a high-availability, high-traffic production environment
