Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, as a Referral Laboratory Coordinator in the Lab Directors Office department. Here, you will perform assigned supportive work in the delivery of patient care, involving multiple office, clerical and technical duties. The role includes interacting, intervening, and problem solving to ensure exceptional customer service by coordinating processes in the main laboratory send out area, responding to telephone inquiries, phones/faxes and collaborating with the Outreach Representative Supervisor for timely distribution and release of test results. This department is the Laboratory Directors Office. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
The Referral Lab Coordinator over sees, evaluates and implements processes and workflows for the transfer of human specimens for delivery to referral laboratory for testing. The role requires evaluating the proficiency of new employees following the completion of training and makes recommendations as to whether they should be permitted to work independently, offered additional training and/or supervision, and/or separated. In conjunction with the Outreach Representative Supervisor, the IMH Referral Laboratory Coordinator serves as a liaison between leaders, IT, clinicians and third parties for referral laboratory testing.

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position.
The pay range is based on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity. Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
