Product Designer

Mastra is the open-source TypeScript framework for building AI agents, backed by Y Combinator and Spark Capital. They are seeking a talented product designer to help establish a leading design-driven software company by enhancing user experiences and developing a robust design system.

Responsibilities:

• Develop a deep understanding of the Mastra framework and platform, including how different features work together and which interaction patterns best support each use case
• Continuously research emerging interaction patterns, developer tools, and best-in-class products to inform your work
• Think from the perspective of a developer and identify the highest-impact opportunities to improve the user experience across Mastra Studio and the Mastra Cloud platform
• Work closely with the product team to understand the roadmap, clarify requirements, and address the most important user problems
• Build and maintain a robust design system in Figma, working closely with the front-end team to ensure consistency across Storybook and the implemented product
• Explore how AI and emerging design tools can bring Figma closer to code, accelerate prototyping, and reduce the gap between design and implementation

Requirements:

• At least four years of experience designing software products
• Strong track record in an adjacent discipline, such as brand or web design, and have recently transitioned into product and UX design
• Experience building and maintaining design systems
• Comfortable prototyping in Figma
• Basic understanding of AI products, HTML, and CSS
• Familiar with developer-facing products
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to respond well to constructive feedback
• Ability to distill complex problems, competing requirements, and feedback into clear, practical solutions
• Critical mindset, take initiative, and show leadership by identifying opportunities and proposing thoughtful, original solutions
