Radiological Engineer / Health Physicist (Nuclear Reactor)

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing firm, and they are recruiting for an experienced Radiological Engineer or Health Physicist. This remote, contract role will support a cutting-edge nuclear power organization focused on advanced small modular reactor technology.

Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering calculations and analysis using industry-standard methods and simulation tools (e.g., NRCDose, SCALE, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG) with little to no supervision
• Develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and innovation
• Plan, organize, and perform innovative and complex engineering assignments on a team dedicated to the development of an engineering project; interpret scope and requirements of projects; develop alternatives
• Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1
• Exercise judgment within broadly defined policies and practices using professional principles and company objectives to resolve complex issues
• Interact with internal peers and management on matters requiring coordination within the department and sector
• Represent the department as a technical resource both inside and outside the department
• Mentor and train junior engineers

Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or radiological health physics is required
• 5+ years of experience in nuclear/radiological engineering or health physics is required
• Must have at least 2 years (either additional or concurrent) experience in Pressure Water Reactor (PWR) or Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) design analysis using radiological engineering software such as NRCDose, SCALE, RADTRAD, MCNP, and ADVANTG
• Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
• An advanced degree is preferred
