SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering) Data Analyst/GIS Specialist

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a SUE Data Analyst/GIS Specialist to play a key role in shaping the future of infrastructure. In this role, you will transform complex subsurface utility engineering data into actionable insights while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance project efficiency and ensure data accuracy.

Responsibilities:

• Attend project kickoff meetings (in person or virtually) to coordinate project workflows
• Assist in development of SUE GIS Database
• Provide oversight of SUE GIS Data Collection Program
• Setup and maintain project applications in Basecamp, Fulcrum, Bluebeam or similar
• Receive and process field data from Fulcrum, Basecamp, Bluebeam and/or other software applications as developed
• QA/QC data received and determine need for remedial collection as necessary. Provide updates on data collection to project team as well as any need for additional data
• Coordinate with survey staff to ensure proper survey collection of utility data, provide survey staff with package of Fulcrum, Bluebeam and Basecamp data to facilitate data collection
• Coordinate with CADD staff for drafting of utility data, provide package of Fulcrum, Bluebeam and Basecamp data to facilitate drafting and review
• Coordinate with project team to review all data collected, QA/QC output, review CADD drafting and ensure quality of data for client deliverable
• Coordinate with departmental admin staff to organize and maintain proper filing of project and general information
• Attend conferences and training seminars as necessary to learn of new applications and equipment in the utility space to maintain competitive edge in marketplace
• Provide clients with proper back-up data (designating reports, test hole reports, field sketches, CAD files, etc.)
• Coordinate with local municipalities to obtain proper certifications and permits for SUE work in their jurisdictions

Requirements:

• Associates Degree required
• 5+ years of experience in SUE or closely related field
• Interpersonal skills, ability to effectively work well with and communicate with others
• Strong written and oral communication skill
• Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Proficient in MS Office, BlueBeam, Fulcrum and/or other related software
• Excel in the ability to learn, apply and teach others technical skills and knowledge
• Keen eye for detail
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions
• Bachelors degree preferred
• ESRI ARC GIS experience a plus
• CADD experience preferred (Microstation or AutoCAD Civil 3D)
