Senior Software Engineer – C/C++ (Linux & Embedded Networking)

SRM Digital LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in C/C++, Linux, and embedded systems to design and build high-performance networking solutions. The role involves leading the development of core connectivity features, optimizing system performance, mentoring engineers, and contributing to products used by millions of customers worldwide.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance high-performance software components using C/C++
• Lead the architecture and development of node connectivity solutions
• Develop reliable, secure, and scalable software for Linux and embedded platforms
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to improve core platform functionality
• Optimize software performance, scalability, and reliability
• Debug and resolve complex production and system-level issues
• Evaluate and improve existing software components and subsystems
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions
• Mentor junior engineers and promote software engineering best practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering standards

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience developing production software in C/C++
• Strong experience working in Linux and/or embedded systems environments
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including: LANs, Routing, Switching, Wireless networking
• Experience debugging complex system-level software issues
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional engineering teams
• Experience with distributed systems
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, or VPNs
• Experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing
• Experience developing networking appliances or IoT devices
• Cloud networking or network security experience
