The Haymarket Gainesville Library is looking forward to welcoming an organized, community-minded, and motivated individual to join our busy branch as a member of the Adult Services Team!
In this part-time Librarian position, you will play a crucial role in both providing customer service to patrons of all ages on service desks and at outreach events, as well as planning and implementing programs, both passive and active, that meet the needs of our diverse and ever-growing community. We are looking for a librarian with strong organization and communication skills who is collaborative and creative. If you are dedicated to promoting library services with a focus on lifelong learning, we’d love to have you on our team!
About This Role:
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in library or information science
Preferences:
Special Requirements: The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, 20-hour per week position. Staff are currently scheduled during the following hours: Monday – Wednesday 9:00am to 8:00pm and Thursday – Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm. The work schedule may vary based on needs of the library. Flexibility is a must.
Starting Salary Range:
$33.80 - $40.72 / hour
