Job Title: QE Lead
Location: Grand Rapids, MI / Onsite
Duration: 6 months
The QE Lead is responsible for leading the quality engineering function across applications and platforms,
ensuring high-quality software delivery through test strategy, automation, process improvements, and team leadership.
The role works closely with Development, Product, Business, and Operations teams to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Leadership
Define and implement the overall Quality Engineering strategy.
Establish quality standards, metrics, and best practices across projects.
Lead and mentor QA/QE engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Drive shift-left testing and quality-first practices.
Test Planning & Execution
Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test approaches.
Oversee functional, integration, regression, system, UAT, and non-functional testing activities.
Ensure adequate test coverage and traceability to business requirements.
Review test results and provide quality sign-off for releases.
Test Automation
Lead automation framework design and implementation.
Identify opportunities for increased automation and efficiency.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor automation effectiveness and optimize test suites.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Product Owners, Development Teams, Release Managers, and Business Stakeholders.
Communicate testing progress, risks, issues, and quality metrics.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning activities.
Defect & Risk Management
Drive defect triage and root cause analysis.
Ensure critical defects are tracked and resolved before release.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
