Remote, Sr. PostgreSQL Database Administrator - (Government Clients Exp Required) - Only W2

Required Skills

• Minimum 11 years of hands-on experience as a PostgreSQL Database Administrator supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
• Extensive expertise in designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing AWS RDS PostgreSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals, including database architecture, security, backup and recovery, performance optimization, and capacity management.
• At least 8 years of experience developing, maintaining, and reviewing advanced PL/pgSQL functions, stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects.
• Proven experience in database schema design, indexing strategies, transaction management, and concurrency/locking mechanisms.
• Proficient in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and automation scripting using Shell/Bash and Python.
• Experience monitoring production databases, resolving incidents, and participating in after-hours on-call support rotations.
• Working knowledge of DevOps and source control tools such as Bitbucket, Bamboo, GitHub, and Jenkins.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience administering MySQL and/or Oracle database environments.
• Prior experience supporting Health and Human Services (HHS) or other government-based applications.
• Demonstrated commitment to staying current with emerging PostgreSQL features, cloud database technologies, and industry best practices.
