Title: Database Administrator (On-site)
Location: Tallahassee, FL || Duration: Long-Term
Required Skills and Experience
* A minimum of 3 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multiple platform environment.
* Experience managing and maintaining all production and non-production databases.
* Experience performing backup and recovery on Database Management Systems, configuring database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models; and defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
* Experience optimizing database access and allocating/re-allocating database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.
* Highly proficient in both spoken and written English.
* Experience as an ADABAS database administrator (DBA) and with Software AG products hosted in a mainframe environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
* Able to work onsite in Tallahassee, Florida.
* Experience with DB2.
Primary Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases.
* Maintain responsibility for standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration.
* Perform backup and recovery on Database Management Systems; configure database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models; and define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
* Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.
Education
* Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
