Job Description

The Engineering Ambassador plays a key role in supporting the daily maintenance, repair, and operational needs of the hotel's facilities and equipment. This role helps ensure that all systems are functioning safely and efficiently in line with Sofitel standards. The Engineering Ambassador contributes meaningfully to guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction through quality maintenance work and a prompt, caring response to engineering related requests.

• Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests, ensuring timely resolution.
• Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and share complex matters with supervisors for further guidance.
• Support preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and extend asset life.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, heart of house areas, and equipment rooms to ensure proper operation and cleanliness.
• Maintain tools, materials, and equipment in good working order, ensuring proper storage after use.
• Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment or providing technical support for hotel functions and events.
• Follow all hotel safety policies, procedures, and local regulations when performing maintenance work.
• Promptly share any unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment concerns with supervisors.
• Support energy saving initiatives by operating systems efficiently and helping conserve resources.
• Record completed maintenance tasks and flag outstanding work orders for follow-up.
• Maintain clear, proactive communication with supervisors and other departments regarding repair schedules or ongoing matters.
• Assist with inventory control by monitoring stock levels of tools, materials, and spare parts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1–3 years experience in a similar maintenance or engineering role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment while maintaining consistency

• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
