Position: Electrical Test Design Engineer
Location: Tarrytown, NY - Onsite

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Test Design Engineer with 6+ years of experience in electrical design, board-level testing, and system validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting electrical design verification, hardware testing, validation activities, and troubleshooting while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. Experience in medical device or industrial embedded systems is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute electrical test plans for board-level and system-level validation.
Perform electrical design verification and hardware validation to ensure product quality and performance.
Conduct board-level testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
Develop and maintain electrical schematics, documentation, and engineering reports.
Utilize schematic capture and PCB design tools such as Mentor Xpedition, Altium Designer, or OrCAD.
Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Analyze test results and identify root causes of electrical or system-level failures.
Support Engineering Change (EC) activities, including documentation updates and design modifications.
Work extensively in laboratory environments to perform testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
Prepare technical documentation, validation reports, and test procedures.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards and quality requirements.
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 6+ years of experience in electrical design and hardware testing.
Strong experience with board-level testing and system validation.
Hands-on experience using schematic and PCB design tools such as:
Mentor Xpedition (Preferred)
Altium Designer
OrCAD
Experience troubleshooting electrical hardware and validating system functionality.
Strong documentation, reporting, and technical writing skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work independently in a laboratory environment.
Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience in Medical Device or In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) product development.
Knowledge of CAN Bus communication protocols.
Experience with wired communication protocols.
Familiarity with Engineering Change (EC/ECO) processes.
Experience with Linux-based embedded or industrial systems.
Exposure to regulatory and quality standards in medical device development is a plus.
