Network Security Engineer

Cardinal Health is a healthcare services and products company, and they are seeking a Network Security Engineer to design, implement, operate, and maintain their network and telecommunications systems. The role involves ensuring network security, troubleshooting issues, and working on complex projects while providing technical solutions to various challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of networking concepts and systems including routing, switching, WAN/LAN, WLANs, Cisco & HP network devices
• Demonstrated thorough understanding of network security concepts and systems including but not limited to F5 Load Balancers, WAF concepts, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Sophos, Zscaler
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of SSL Decryption concepts, implementation, and troubleshooting
• Demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions
• Configures and implements network infrastructure including routers, firewalls, load balancers as break/fix or enhancement requests
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues as they arise across various corporate and remote site environments
• Applies comprehensive knowledge and thorough understanding of network concepts, principles, and technical capabilities
• Monitors network traffic and security devices for performance problems
• Investigates and resolves client and vendor incidents through maintenance contracts
• Creates and maintains diagrams of network topologies
• Participates in the development policies and procedures to achieve specific goals
• Works on complex projects of large scope
• Independently determines method for completion of new projects and tasks. Receives general guidance on overall project objectives
• Provide estimates, tasks, forecasts, and budget for project work and assessment requests
• Demonstrates the ability to view what we do and apply it towards an enterprise perspective/ understands implication

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years' experience in related field preferred
• 3+ years supporting enterprise applications preferred
• Applicable technical certifications preferred
• GCP, AWS working experience is a plus
• Demonstrated ability or working experience with Ansible or Terraform
• Working experience with F5 ASM, AWAF or Akamai is a plus
• Certifications in related technologies preferred but not required
