Senior Site Reliability Engineer

CVS Health is building a world of health around every individual, and they are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of critical applications. This role involves designing scalable solutions, maintaining observability capabilities, and collaborating with various teams to enhance reliability and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of end‑to‑end observability for applications, including metrics, logs, traces, and synthetic monitoring
• Own the reliability, availability, and performance of key applications and services in production environments
• Collaborate with application development teams to design performant, resilient architectures and patterns
• Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert for APM, SRE, and observability within the team and broader department

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related discipline
• 1+ years of strong hands‑on experience with AppDynamics in production environments (dashboards, health rules, transaction detection, alerting, baselining, war‑room usage)
• 1+ years of practical experience with SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response, post‑incident reviews, and runbooks
• 1+ years of experience with observability tooling and standards, including Open Telemetry (tracing, metrics, logging) and integration into APM/monitoring platforms
• 1+ years of utilization of AI coding assistants such as GHCP, Windsurf, or Cursor for code analysis and reverse engineering legacy applications
• Bachelor's degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (High School Diploma/GED + 4 years relevant experience)
• Strong hands‑on experience with AppDynamics in production environments (dashboards, health rules, transaction detection, alerting, baselining, war‑room usage)
• Practical experience with SRE practices: SLIs/SLOs, error budgets, incident response, post‑incident reviews, and runbooks
• Experience with observability tooling and standards, including Open Telemetry (tracing, metrics, logging) and integration into APM/monitoring platforms
