Software Engineer II

EPITEC is seeking a Software Engineer II for temporary, project-based engineering initiatives. The role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and improving software systems, including production machine learning systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting project objectives and timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement software features and enhancements aligned with project requirements
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code following established engineering standards
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality and reliability
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software issues throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and security teams to deliver technical solutions
• Create and maintain technical documentation for software implementations
• Support operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, performance optimization, and system maintenance

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience developing and evaluating machine learning models, particularly classification models
• Experience building, deploying, or supporting machine learning systems in production environments
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Go, or similar
• Experience building, testing, and maintaining production-quality software
• Familiarity with software development best practices, including version control, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience working at large-scale technology companies
• Background in machine learning infrastructure, model deployment, or production ML systems
• Experience contributing to highly scalable software platforms and services
