Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Kellanova is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join their dynamic software development team. In this role, you will lead comprehensive testing efforts across multiple platforms, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test automation scripts for web, mobile (Android and iOS), and desktop applications using tools like TestNG, Selenium, JUnit, and Cucumber
• Lead functional, system, regression, performance (using LoadRunner), load testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate software functionality against business requirements
• Design and implement automated testing frameworks utilizing scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, C#, and Bash to streamline QA processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and DevOps to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration of testing into the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
• Conduct root cause analysis on defects identified during testing phases; communicate findings effectively for prompt resolution
• Manage defect tracking using tools like HP ALM, Jira, TFS (Team Foundation Server), or GitLab; prioritize issues based on severity and impact
• Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Jenkins or Azure DevOps to facilitate rapid release cycles while maintaining quality standards
• Perform mobile application testing on Android and iOS platforms; utilize emulators or real devices for comprehensive validation of mobile apps’ functionality and performance
• Analyze test results using SQL (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) and data analysis skills to identify trends or recurring issues; prepare detailed reports for stakeholders
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions; translate business needs into effective test strategies ensuring thorough coverage

Requirements:

• Proven experience in software quality assurance within IT environments with a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
• Extensive hands-on experience with test automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, and scripting languages including Python or JavaScript
• Solid knowledge of API testing using RESTful APIs and SOAP web services
• Proficiency in performance testing tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter
• Strong understanding of version control systems including GitHub, GitLab, SVN; experience integrating QA processes into CI/CD pipelines
• Expertise in mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms
• Ability to perform root cause analysis through debugging techniques and SQL queries across multiple database systems like MySQL or Oracle
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets; strong attention to detail in test case design and execution
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical teams and articulate issues clearly
• Experience with system performance tuning is preferred
• Familiarity with Postman or similar tools is advantageous
• Familiarity with Appium is a plus
• Experience supporting technical troubleshooting is desirable
