Sr. Data Engineer

PAR Technology Corporation is a leader in restaurant technology providing software and hardware solutions to over 100,000 restaurants globally. The Senior Data Engineer will build next-generation data tools for the retail and commerce loyalty platform, working closely with various teams to design and implement data pipelines that extract valuable insights from transactional data. The role involves scaling and deploying new technologies to enhance user experience and provide deeper business insights.

Responsibilities:

• Developing robust, scalable data pipelines using cutting-edge technologies
• Architecting and developing innovative data products that drive business insights
• Utilizing advanced AI techniques to transform raw data into strategic intelligence

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles
• Experience leading projects and collaborating across teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement
• Commitment to staying updated with industry technology trends
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and coding agents to amplify day-to-day output, including the harnesses and internal tooling that let you and the rest of the team move faster
• Programming: Python, SQL, Terraform
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and practices
• Big Data Technologies: Spark, Databricks, Structured Streaming
• Relational (Postgres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases
• CI/CD: CircleCI, DroneCI, Github Actions, Spacelift
• Monitoring & Observability: DataDog
• Cloud Platforms: AWS or Azure and their data solutions
• Understanding data privacy, security, and governance practices
• Ability to integrate AI/ML models into data pipelines
• Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, MCP, Agent Orchestrators
• Version Control: Git, Github
