DevOps Engineer I (Remote)

Businessolver delivers benefits technology and services through a secure SaaS platform focused on client responsiveness and employee benefits engagement. The DevOps Engineer I supports Linux systems, automation tools, Atlassian products, and cloud services, while performing monitoring, infrastructure optimization, troubleshooting, documentation, and cloud technology adoption with some supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of automated processes
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization as required
• Provision and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
• Research, develop, and implement innovative and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks
• Provide Tier II support for incidents and requests from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
• Maintain and contribute to our knowledge base and documentation
• Influence broader technology groups in adopting Cloud technologies, processes, and best practices
• Creative thinking and proposing solutions to grow our business by delighting our clients
• May perform other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience with AWS or an AWS Certification
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent professional experience
• 2+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience
• Strong scripting skills – Python / Bash preferred
• Experience with best practices for Cloud Networking and Security
• Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions
• Experience with DNS and web server configurations
• Ability to use AI to quickly come up to speed on large complex codebases
• Knowledge of automating infrastructure builds utilizing tools such as Gitlab, Terraform and CDK
• Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools such as ECS or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of CI / CD pipelines and Agile methodologies
