Senior Project Manager

The School District of Philadelphia is committed to improving educational opportunities for more than 200,000 students and seeks leaders dedicated to supporting schools and communities. The Senior Project Manager supports the Office of the Superintendent by managing large, complex, enterprise-wide projects, including scope development, budgets, contracts, staffing, stakeholder coordination, implementation, reporting, and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

• Develops strategies for appropriate scopes of work
• Participates or directs contract negotiation and/or preparation
• Plans and manages timelines, and monitors progress of various projects and work streams; provides progress updates to project leads
• Works with selected teams on specific aspects of meeting project goals in a timely manner
• Prepares, manages, audits, and maintains direct responsibly for project budgets
• Prepares reports related to project status and projections
• Directly supervises project or department staff as required
• Develops and builds good communications and relationships with District leaders and staff
• Facilitates meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Uses data on process effectiveness to identify potential improvements and codify successful approaches
• Participates in confidential and/or sensitive matters and/or projects at every level of the enterprise
• Supports administrative and managerial project work for projects and initiatives under the responsibility or oversight of the Deputy Chief of Staff

Requirements:

• Completion of a bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university
• Six years of full-time, paid, professional experience in either administration, operations, finance, education, or information technology which has included serving as a team lead or project manager
• All work experience related to the position must be included on the resume
• Demonstrated knowledge of the procedures and methods utilized to implement systemic change in a timely, accurate, and effective manner
• Demonstrated knowledge of Google Workspace suite, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and/or other productivity and scheduling tools
• Demonstrated ability to be champion for K-12 public education
• Demonstrated ability to manage large or complex projects and/or budgets
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct project activities and allocate staff resources to tasks efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems
• Demonstrated ability to represent a superior at meetings and conferences
• Demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
