Senior Software Engineer

Cognizant is a digital services company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and enhance modern full stack applications. The role focuses on translating business requirements into scalable solutions, driving CI/CD and security practices, collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams, and ensuring application reliability and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance full stack applications using modern frontend and backend technologies
• Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and scalable system designs
• Drive CI/CD automation, code quality initiatives, security best practices, and performance optimization efforts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues while ensuring reliability, maintainability, and scalability

Requirements:

• Candidates must be authorized to work without sponsorship now or in the future, including OPT, CPT, H1B or any other work authorization requiring employer sponsorship
• This role requires candidates to be based in the United States and available to collaborate across distributed teams and client schedules
• Extensive professional experience developing full stack applications using JavaScript and TypeScript
• Strong understanding of modern software development principles and application architecture
• Experience developing and maintaining cloud-native applications on AWS
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
• Strong experience with Git/GitHub and modern version control practices
• Experience translating business requirements into technical designs and implementation plans
• Knowledge of software security best practices and application performance optimization
• Experience working in Agile development environments
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience designing scalable cloud-native applications on AWS
• Experience implementing automated testing strategies within CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with microservices and distributed architectures
• Experience optimizing application performance and scalability
• Experience mentoring developers and contributing to engineering best practices
