About this role

Millennium is a cybersecurity organization supporting critical national security missions and federal customers. The company is seeking a mid-level AWS DevOps Engineer to design, optimize, automate, and sustain secure AWS cloud environments while ensuring performance, availability, and federal compliance. The role also involves troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, collaborating with technical stakeholders, mentoring junior engineers, maintaining documentation, and supporting business development activities.

Responsibilities:

Engineer and maintain optimal performance and availability of customer AWS environments using IaC and automation
Diagnose and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues and provide support for technical hurdles related to cloud systems
Work closely with IT stakeholders, developers, security analysts, and project managers to align infrastructure with business goals
Lead automation initiatives and provide guidance/mentoring to junior engineering staff
Create and maintain technical documentation for architecture decisions, automation processes, and compliance artifacts
Assist with Business Development activities as required to support Millennium's strategic business objectives, which may include but not limited to participation in technical interviews, creation of technical documentation, general proposal writing support and proposal color reviews

Requirements:

- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (Degree must be ABET-accredited; degree from a regionally accredited institution)
- 7 years of software or network engineering experience with 3+ years of consistent experience specifically in AWS Cloud Security, DevOps, or DevSecOps
- AWS security/networking: VPC, firewalls/NGFW, IDS/IPS, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail
- DevSecOps/CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab, AWS CodePipeline; SAST/DAST/SCA
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation
- Python, Bash, or Go automation
- Policy-as-code, security automation, and auto-remediation
- ECS/EKS and container security experience
This position is remote but visits to customer site (Charleston, SC) will be required. Currently, customer site visits for Program Increment Planning occur four times per year, one week each.
- Must be comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at a time
