Senior Product Designer, Web Tools

Toast creates technology that helps restaurants and local businesses succeed in a digital world. The company is seeking a Senior Product Designer to design AI-powered features for its marketing website, including chatbots, conversational interfaces, and personalized visitor experiences, while collaborating with Web Strategy, Engineering, Marketing, and AI/ML teams.

Responsibilities:

• Design and iterate on AI-powered features embedded in Toast's website, including chatbots, conversational interfaces, and dynamic personalization experiences
• Translate complex AI capabilities into intuitive, human-centered interactions that feel natural and build trust with prospects
• Partner with Engineering and AI/ML teams to understand model capabilities and constraints, and design within them
• Design personalization logic and experiences that adapt content, messaging, or layout based on visitor behavior, segment, or intent
• Prototype and test AI-driven concepts, using data and user feedback to refine interaction patterns pre- and post-launch
• Collaborate with Web Strategy and Marketing stakeholders to ensure AI experiences align with campaign goals, brand voice, and business priorities
• Contribute to and help evolve design patterns and guidelines for AI-enabled experiences across the web ecosystem
• Clearly communicate design rationale, prototypes, and outcomes to your manager and cross-functional partners

Requirements:

• • 4+ years of relevant product or web design experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment
• • Exposure to designing for or with AI-powered features (chatbots, recommendation systems, generative content, personalization engines, etc.) — or strong enthusiasm and aptitude to grow into it
• • Solid foundation in UI/UX principles, including interaction design, information architecture, and accessibility
• • Comfort designing within real-world technical constraints and working closely with engineers to bring ideas to life
• • A portfolio that shows thoughtful, user-centered problem solving — bonus points for conversational, adaptive, or AI-enabled interfaces
• • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly present design decisions to a range of stakeholders
• • Ability to work through ambiguity, take feedback well, and iterate quickly
• • Are genuinely curious about AI and excited to explore what's possible in this space
• • Like solving real human problems with emerging technology, not just chasing what's trendy
• • Are comfortable taking a project from early exploration through to polished, shipped execution
• • Enjoy close collaboration with engineers, PMs, and marketers to bring ideas to life
• • Take ownership proactively, while welcoming direction on newer or more ambiguous projects
