NetScaler & VDI Systems Integration Specialist Advisor

The NetScaler & VDI Systems Integration Specialist Advisor is a senior technical professional with a proven track record of designing, implementing, supporting, and optimizing large-scale Citrix environments. This role primarily focuses on Citrix NetScaler (ADC) infrastructure, application delivery, load balancing, security, and remote access solutions, while also providing expertise in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.

The Advisor leverages innovation, technical expertise, and leadership skills to deliver highly available, secure, and scalable solutions for enterprise customers. The successful candidate will have extensive experience supporting large enterprise environments, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive technical excellence across multiple teams and customers.

Responsibilities

NetScaler / ADC Focus

• Act as the senior technical escalation point for Citrix NetScaler (ADC) incidents, issues, and service requests.
• Design, implement, configure, and support enterprise Citrix NetScaler environments, including:
• Load Balancing
• Content Switching
• SSL Offloading
• Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)
• Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• Gateway / ICA Proxy Services
• Authentication and MFA integrations
• Monitor and optimize NetScaler performance, traffic management, and security configurations.
• Develop and maintain NetScaler standards, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management of NetScaler platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex networking, TLS/SSL, authentication, and application delivery issues.
• Collaborate with networking, security, application, and infrastructure teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
• Lead root cause analysis activities and corrective actions for major incidents related to application delivery services.
• Drive automation and optimization initiatives within the NetScaler environment.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing for NetScaler technologies.

VDI / Application Virtualization Focus

• Design, implement, and support Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix DaaS, and Azure Virtual Desktop environments.
• Support complex system configurations across Citrix, VMware, Hyper-V, and associated virtualization platforms.
• Act as an escalation point for VDI and application virtualization issues.
• Support image management, profile management, application delivery, and user experience optimization initiatives.
• Work closely with customers, account teams, and technical peers to ensure successful delivery of VDI solutions.
• Contribute to architecture reviews, capacity planning, and platform optimization activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and operational runbooks.

• Coordinate technical activities on assigned customer accounts and ensure service KPIs and deadlines are met.
• Support team members with technical challenges within areas of expertise.
• Apply industry best practices, methodologies, and standards to customer environments.
• Foster innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Lead and drive high-severity incidents within the scope of responsibility.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Adhere to ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, Change, and Service Request Management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of troubleshooting activities and resolutions.

 

Required Skills

NetScaler / ADC Expertise (Primary Requirement)

• 7+ years of IT infrastructure engineering, implementation, and support experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and supporting Citrix NetScaler (Citrix ADC) environments.
• Advanced knowledge of:
• Citrix ADC / NetScaler
• Load Balancing
• Content Switching
• Citrix Gateway
• GSLB
• SSL/TLS configuration and troubleshooting
• Authentication methods (LDAP, RADIUS, SAML, OAuth, Azure AD)
• Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• Security and high-availability configurations
• Strong troubleshooting experience across application delivery, networking, and security services.
• Experience performing NetScaler upgrades, migrations, and platform modernization projects.
• Citrix Certified Associate (CCA) or Citrix Certified Professional (CCP) focused on Networking/ADC highly preferred.

VDI / Virtualization Expertise

• Advanced experience supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and/or Citrix DaaS environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Strong knowledge of profile management, application layering, image management, and user experience optimization.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, Citrix Hypervisor/XenServer, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Working knowledge of Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and cloud-hosted desktop solutions.

Infrastructure & Networking

• Strong understanding of:
• TCP/IP
• Routing and Switching
• DNS
• DHCP
• Firewalls
• Load Balancing
• Network Security
• Enterprise Authentication
• Technical knowledge of storage platforms (SAN/NAS).
• Strong Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows Networking expertise.
• Experience with SQL Server in Citrix infrastructures.

• Proven ability to assess, design, implement, and troubleshoot complex enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong customer-facing consulting and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions and provide architectural recommendations.
