Civil Engineering Designer - Land Development

Core States Group is an architecture, engineering, and construction firm delivering design and engineering solutions for multisite programs and projects. The Civil Engineering Designer will support land development projects by preparing plans, estimates, reports, calculations, and permit materials, while coordinating with clients, agencies, and sub-consultants. The role also assists project engineers with timely, budget-conscious project delivery and attends project meetings.

Responsibilities:

• Apply civil engineering concepts to develop solutions to project challenges
• Preparation of construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and other project documents
• Coordination with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application
• Preparation of grading plans, profiles, road design, and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Research regulatory requirements and design standards
• Perform detailed and complex calculations for storm water facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements
• Preparation of detailed technical reports and project presentation materials
• Assist project engineers in completing projects in a timely manner and within project budgets
• Attend project meetings

Requirements:

• 1-5+ years of experience in site development design
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with or willingness to learn AutoCAD Civil 3D for site development
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office
• A desire and/or ability to work in teams to accomplish shared goals
• Self-motivated with the ability and desire to deliver excellent client service
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes, support better decisions, and increase efficiency
• Demonstrated ability to review AI-generated content for accuracy, protect confidential information, and remain responsible for the final work product
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is preferred
