Software Engineer

Munchkins AI builds artificial intelligence tools for healthcare clinics, including voice agents and recruitment platforms. The Software Engineer will build and maintain internal web applications and AI-powered tools, develop accessible user interfaces, integrate REST APIs and third-party systems, and improve application performance, security, and reliability in a regulated healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain internal web applications that support scheduling, documentation, communication, and other clinic workflows
• Collaborate with clinicians, administrators, and product stakeholders to translate operational needs into reliable software features
• Develop responsive user interfaces using modern front-end technologies with a strong focus on usability and accessibility
• Integrate applications with REST APIs and third-party systems to support secure data exchange across clinical platforms
• Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes that minimize disruption to patient-facing operations
• Write clean, maintainable code, participate in code reviews, and use version control practices that support team collaboration
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in application performance, security, and stability within a regulated healthcare environment

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 1 year of professional software engineering or web development experience required
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for building and maintaining modern web applications
• Experience developing user interfaces with React
• Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Experience using Git for source control and collaborative development
• Ability to work with REST APIs, including integration, testing, and troubleshooting
• Experience building applications with Next.js
• Familiarity with AWS services used for hosting, deployment, or application infrastructure
• Experience using Tailwind CSS for efficient front-end development
• Strong debugging skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across the application stack
• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests
