Sr Machine Learning Engineer

Pinterest is a platform that helps people discover creative ideas and plan meaningful experiences. The Sr Machine Learning Engineer will build and improve deep learning and machine learning technology to personalize Pinterest, partnering across teams to experiment on models for product surfaces including Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search. The role also focuses on improving candidate retrieval through data-driven methods and advancing recommendation systems in a high-impact environment.

Responsibilities:

• Build cutting edge technology using the latest advances in deep learning and machine learning to personalize Pinterest
• Partner closely with teams across Pinterest to experiment and improve Machine Learning models for various product surfaces (Homefeed, Ads, Growth, Shopping, and Search), while gaining knowledge of how ML works in different areas
• Use data driven methods and leverage the unique properties of our data to improve candidates retrieval
• Work in a high-impact environment with quick experimentation and product launches
• Keeping up with industry trends in recommendation systems
• Telecommuting and/or remote employment permitted

Requirements:

• PhD (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline OR Master's degree (or its foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline and three (3) year of experience in the job offered or in any occupation in related machine learning occupation
• (1) Python; (2) Java; (3) Solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches; (4) Adapting standard machine learning methods to best enterprise modern parallel environments: distributed clusters, multicore SMP, or GPU; (5) Algorithms, data structure; (6) Recommender systems; (7) NLP; (8) Signal processing; (9) data mining; and (10) Gathering, manipulating, or analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
