Systems Modeling Engineer – Data Centers

Necora develops engineering-grade modeling tools for data-center infrastructure and cooling systems. The Systems Modeling Engineer will design and maintain digital twins, build 3D models and simulations, integrate operational data, validate performance, troubleshoot deployments, and support system administration, documentation, and engineering standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain digital twins of data-center infrastructure and cooling systems
• Create and refine 3D models and simulations that represent real-world behavior, integrating data from sensors, control systems, and operational tooling
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate physical systems into robust models, validate performance against field data, and iterate on system designs to improve accuracy and usability
• Troubleshoot issues in digital twin deployments, support system administration and integration tasks, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices
• Help shape engineering standards, influence product strategy, and contribute to a culture of rigorous, data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

• Strong Systems Engineering and Systems Design skills to model complex data-center and cooling architectures
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support for diagnosing issues in digital twins, simulations, and integrations
• Experience with System Administration for managing the environments that host modeling tools, data pipelines, and related infrastructure
• Background in 3D modeling, simulation, or digital twin platforms (e.g., CAD tools, physics-based simulation engines, or industrial modeling software)
• Comfort working with data from sensors and control systems; familiarity with scripting or programming for data processing and automation
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, and document technical decisions and models
• Experience with data centers, thermal management, or industrial systems is a plus, as is previous startup or early-stage company experience
