Remote Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing)

Turing is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute engineering expertise and analytical reasoning to projects that evaluate and enhance AI systems. The role involves solving mechanical and manufacturing engineering problems, developing structured technical solutions, evaluating AI responses, and collaborating with researchers on engineering reasoning and standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design and solve real-world mechanical and manufacturing engineering problems to test AI reasoning
• Write clear, structured solutions covering mechanical design, materials selection, failure analysis, and production methods
• Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, clarity, and alignment with engineering principles
• Collaborate with researchers to refine AI understanding of simulation reasoning, calculations, and industry standards (ASME, ISO, ASTM)

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineer
• Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering
• Strong English communication and technical reasoning skills
• Comfortable using web-based tools for annotation and review
• Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360) and engineering analysis methods (FEA, CFD) preferred
