Critical Power Commissioning Project Manager

Electrify America is a company focused on expanding open DC fast charging and supporting sustainable electric mobility. The Critical Power Commissioning Project Manager leads the commissioning strategy and execution for network assets from construction completion through site acceptance and operational turnover. The role manages partners, establishes site readiness and commissioning standards, provides technical leadership, develops training and certification programs, and supports safe, compliant deployments.

Responsibilities:

• Own the commissioning program and establish the standards, processes, and requirements necessary to ensure all sites are fully prepared for commissioning activities prior to technician deployment
• Define and maintain the construction-to-commissioning handoff process
• Establish and enforce site readiness requirements and commissioning acceptance criteria
• Manage and influence external partners responsible for the successful delivery, startup, and support of network assets
• Manage relationships with Design-Build firms, equipment manufacturers, commissioning vendors, and technical service providers
• Establish performance expectations for schedule adherence, quality, safety, and commissioning execution
• Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to support safe, compliant, and efficient commissioning activities
• Serve as the primary commissioning Subject Matter Expert (SME)
• Provide hands-on support for commissioning activities, startup validation, and technical issue resolution
• Develop a scalable commissioning workforce through training, certification, and knowledge management programs
• Establish commissioning training and certification requirements for internal teams, manufacturers, and service providers
• Educate all service verticals on commissioning processes, manufacturer requirements, operational expectations, and quality standards
• Ensure commissioning resources are properly selected, trained, and deployed while maintaining a culture of safety and operational excellence
• Recommend and assign commissioning personnel based on project requirements, technical qualifications, and geographic needs
• Lead and support a dedicated team of traveling commissioning technicians

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
• Technical understanding of electrical principles and equipment
• Electrical system troubleshooting/repair
• Mechanical Aptitude
• Development and implementation of training materials
• Strong time management and multitasking abilities
• Travel is required as needed to support team initiatives, resolve critical business issues, and perform essential job responsibilities in person
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately ~40% of the time is required
• Must be available to work outside of normal business hours when necessary to support business operations, address urgent matters, or meet critical deadlines
• Licensed Master Electrician / IBEW Journeyman
• NFPA70E, OSHA30 or other relevant safety certifications in good standing
• Crane/lift certified
• Other relevant electrical certifications
• Switchgear/power system test/repair
