Software Engineer

Empower is a financial services company focused on helping customers achieve financial freedom. The Software Engineer will contribute to the full project lifecycle, developing and supporting software features with ReactJS and Java, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and resolving complex technical issues.

Responsibilities:

• Development and Support of significant software features or projects with ReactJS and Java (Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and prioritize software requirements
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high-quality code standards
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues and bottlenecks
• Continuously learn and adapt to modern technologies and development practices

Requirements:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time, including CPT/OPT.
• • 3+ years of strong hands on experience with ReactJS, Java, and Spring Boot
• • Knowledge of Oracle / MySQL / SQL database
• • Helpful to have experience in working in a full stack environment with a deep understanding of software architecture and design principles
• • Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of professional experience and/or training required
• • Experience with Git, Maven, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins**
• • Experienced in writing unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics
• • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices
• • Problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills
• • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
• • Experience across multiple projects and development cycles
• For remote and hybrid positions you will be required to provide reliable high-speed internet with a wired connection as well as a place in your home to work with limited disruption. You must have reliable connectivity from an internet service provider that is fiber, cable or DSL internet. Other necessary computer equipment, will be provided. You may be required to work in the office if you do not have an adequate home work environment and the required internet connection.
