Senior Data Engineer

Eventus WholeHealth is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the design, development, implementation, and optimization of its healthcare data platform. The role will build scalable data infrastructure and pipelines, deliver analytics solutions for operational, financial, and clinical decision-making, establish data engineering and governance best practices, and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategy, design, development, and maintenance of a scalable healthcare data platform
• Deliver high-impact data solutions that generate actionable business and clinical insights
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, define project scope, milestones, success criteria, and change management requirements
• Architect, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT data pipelines using healthcare data sources including FHIR APIs, HL7, CMS, HIEs, EHRs, payers, and laboratory systems
• Optimize data models, storage architecture, and query performance utilizing cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Snowflake
• Establish and maintain data governance standards, code standardization, documentation, testing frameworks, and monitoring processes
• Ensure compliance with healthcare privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and PHI protections

• Mentor and develop junior data engineers while fostering technical growth and collaboration
• Other related duties as assigned

• Remain informed of any changes to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, standards,guidelines, and Eventus WholeHealth policies and procedures that impact the job and the company
• Promptly report any non-compliant conduct and/or practices to Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer
• Ensure adherence to Eventus WholeHealth's Code of Ethics and Business Conduct

• Strictly protect patient information in accordance with all federal and state privacy laws and Eventus WholeHealth policies and procedures
• Promptly report any violations of federal and state privacy laws and Eventus WholeHealth policies and procedures to Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation when performing the job duties
• Ensure that all Eventus WholeHealth information, data, documentation, and records are always safeguarded and maintained confidentially
• Participate in all assigned training
• Complete all assigned training by the deadline for completion
• Engage in regular risk assessments to identify potential risks and work proactively with a supervisor and Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer to mitigate any identified risks
• Promptly report any incidents (as defined in the “Incident Report Policy”) to the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer

Requirements:

• •Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
• •Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, architecting, and implementing data warehouses
• •Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and data services
• •Proven experience designing, developing, and managing enterprise data pipelines within AWS environments
• •Strong experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and management of data pipelines
• 1.Advanced SQL and data modeling expertise and experience with Snowflake
• 2.Cloud architecture and AWS data services proficiency
• 3.Strong Python programming and ETL/ELT pipeline development skills
• 4.Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), HIPAA compliance, and data governance principles
• 5.Knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements including HIPAA and PHI handling
• 6.Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and thrive in a high-growth or startup healthcare environment
