Cybersecurity Analyst / Enginee

Beacon Offshore Ltd. is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst / Engineer for a part-time, remote role. The position protects digital infrastructure, systems, and data by monitoring security environments, analyzing threats and vulnerabilities, responding to incidents, conducting security assessments, and improving security tools, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring network and application environments for security events
• Analyzing potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Responding to incidents with appropriate containment and remediation steps
• Conducting security assessments
• Supporting the implementation of secure configurations and controls
• Collaborating with IT and operations teams to strengthen overall security posture
• Help document security processes
• Maintain incident reports
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of security tools, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

• Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Application Security, with experience assessing and securing systems, applications, and services
• Hands-on skills in Network Security, including monitoring, configuring, and troubleshooting firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
• Experience with Malware Analysis and threat detection techniques, including the ability to investigate suspicious activity and recommend mitigation strategies
• Excellent Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret logs, correlate security events, and make data-driven decisions
• Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and best practices for incident response
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity and collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar are beneficial
