Senior Software Engineer - EDR Workflows - Security

Elastic, the Search AI Company, provides cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability. The Senior Software Engineer will design and build Elastic Defend workflows, user-facing capabilities, APIs, and scalable systems that help protect against and respond to security threats. The role also includes owning feature reliability, collaborating across teams, and contributing to engineering practices and processes.

Responsibilities:

• You’ll design and implement features that power Elastic Defend user interface capabilities
• You’ll build and evolve APIs that allow our product to interact with Elastic Defend data
• You’ll contribute to the architecture of Elastic Defend management and response actions framework along with OSquery forensics capabilities
• You’ll develop scalable, high performance systems within the Elastic ecosystem
• You’ll own the reliability, observability and operational health of our features, from design to production
• Write production-grade code in Typescript/Node JS (and potentially other languages) as part of high-quality, well-tested codebase
• You’ll collaborate with other Elastic engineering teams when working on cross-team efforts
• You’ll be helping on engineering standards, tooling and team processes improvements driven by AI usage
• You’ll participate in code reviews, technical design decisions, and ongoing improvements to engineering practices
• You’ll be using AI to supercharge development work

Requirements:

• Solid programming experience in Typescript/Node JS and React JS
• Ability to take ownership of problems end-to-end: from clarifying requirements and proposing designs to delivering, monitoring, and iterating in production
• You take advantage of AI for better comprehension of complex problems and quickly ramping up into solutions
• You have an AI powered development mindset
• An initiative-taking mindset: you ask the right questions, don't make assumptions, and look for ways to improve both product and engineering processes
• Solid communication skills and the ability to explain complex and technical topics to both technical and non-technical partners
• Comfortable developing collaboratively. Giving and receiving feedback on code and approaches, even asynchronous over different timezones
• Experience and interest in contributing or developing open-source projects
• Knowledge of the Elastic stack and solutions
• Experience on cybersecurity and forensics
