Mechanical Development Engineer

Nokia is seeking a Mechanical Development Engineer to join its Optical Modules Group and contribute to the development of next-generation opto-electronic devices. The role focuses on mechanical design, simulation, risk analysis, tolerance analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to support innovative telecommunications technology products.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and produce high-quality solid models and detailed drawings using CREO and AutoCAD, ensuring accurate part revision and lifecycle management
• Perform and interpret thermal, thermo-mechanical, and mechanical FEA analyses with ANSYS to validate designs under real-world conditions
• Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify potential design risks and enhance product reliability
• Execute detailed tolerance analyses to ensure design precision and manufacturability, driving continual improvement
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to innovate and refine product designs
• Engage with vendors to finalize and validate design specifications for new parts, ensuring alignment with project requirements

Requirements:

• MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-10 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D solid modeling
• Experienced in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and statistical analysis
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with ANSYS
