Lead Data Science Engineer Specialist - Data Scientist

Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) provides technology and engineering solutions, including support for Department of Defense clients. The Lead Data Science Engineer/Specialist will lead complex data science and mathematics projects, develop advanced analytical and machine learning solutions, advise clients, and mentor technical teams.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, complex data science and mathematics projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and organizational goals
• Define project strategies, establish priorities, and allocate resources effectively to meet deadlines and deliverables
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise to address their most pressing challenges
• Develop and implement cutting-edge data science methodologies, algorithms, and mathematical models to solve complex problems
• Drive innovation by researching and applying emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics
• Lead the development of scalable solutions for data processing, analysis, and modeling in operational environments
• Oversee the design and implementation of advanced statistical, predictive, and machine learning models to support decision-making
• Conduct sophisticated exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover actionable insights and inform strategic decisions
• Develop and refine mathematical models for simulation, optimization, and forecasting tasks
• Utilize advanced programming skills in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar languages to develop custom solutions
• Lead the integration of data science workflows into enterprise systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency
• Oversee the use of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib) to communicate insights effectively to diverse audiences
• Collaborate with senior leadership, multidisciplinary teams, and stakeholders to define technical strategies and project goals
• Prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports, presentations, and documentation for executive-level audiences
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the organization
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level team members, fostering their technical and professional growth
• Build and lead high-performing teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client needs
• Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team and organization
• Provide expert analysis and recommendations to support DoD mission objectives and strategic decision-making
• Develop and implement advanced tools, processes, and methodologies to improve operational capabilities for DoD clients
• Ensure all deliverables comply with DoD standards, policies, and security requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 6+ years of relevant experience in data science, mathematics, or related fields
• Advanced proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, MATLAB, or similar
• Strong expertise in statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and mathematical modeling
• Proven ability to lead large-scale projects, manage teams, and deliver high-quality results
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib) and data engineering concepts
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executive-level audiences
• Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
• Advanced knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Experience working in DoD or government contracting environments, with a strong understanding of DoD standards and policies
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex technical challenges
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and distributed computing frameworks
• Proven track record of publishing research or contributing to the broader data science and mathematics community
