Sr. Hardware Engineer

Regal Intel is a mission-driven organization developing secure, privacy-preserving technology for clinical discovery and patient outcomes. The Senior Hardware Engineer will design, develop, validate, and integrate reliable hardware platforms supporting secure federated learning and clinical AI infrastructure, while collaborating with software, security, and clinical data teams.

Responsibilities:

• Architecting hardware platforms, creating and reviewing circuit designs, and driving electronics hardware design from concept through prototyping, testing, and integration
• Collaborate with software, security, and clinical data teams to ensure hardware systems meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements for healthcare environments
• Performing hardware validation and debugging, documenting specifications and design decisions, and contributing to continuous improvement of hardware-attestation and data-protection mechanisms
• Proactive communication, ownership of complex technical challenges, and the ability to mentor other team members in best practices for hardware engineering

Requirements:

• Strong foundation in hardware engineering, including Hardware Development and Computer Hardware skills
• Proficiency in Circuit Design and Electronics Hardware Design for high-reliability systems
• Experience with Hardware architecture and integration in secure or regulated environments
• Knowledge of embedded systems, microcontrollers, or FPGAs and associated toolchains
• Ability to perform hardware testing, validation, and debugging using standard lab equipment
• Strong knowledge of electronic health records (Epic, Cerner, etc) security aspects for integration with hospital systems for custom hardware
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear communication, documentation, and cross-functional teamwork
• Familiarity with security-focused hardware features (e.g., hardware attestation, trusted execution environments) is beneficial
• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or privacy-preserving computing is a plus
