Senior Integration Engineer

Cifar Systems is a technology company focused on modern software solutions, enterprise applications, and technology infrastructure. The Senior Integration Engineer will design and develop a production-grade Rust-based SAP connector for SAP S/4HANA and ECC Finance systems, building reliable API clients, data transformations, authentication, and integration services. The role also involves developing scalable enterprise integration patterns and collaborating on architecture and engineering decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop SAP integrations using Rust
• Integrate with SAP OData APIs and BAPI/REST services
• Develop reliable API clients and integration services
• Implement authentication mechanisms including OAuth 2.0 and token-based authentication
• Handle sessions, rate limits, pagination, webhooks, and API reliability
• Design strongly typed data models and transform SAP data into canonical application models
• Implement reliable data-processing patterns including idempotency, retries, exponential backoff, and dead-letter handling
• Work with relational and embedded databases, including SQLite
• Develop secure data-transfer mechanisms and follow enterprise security practices
• Collaborate with the engineering team to design scalable patterns for future enterprise integrations

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in backend engineering, integration engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience with Rust in production environments
• Strong understanding of asynchronous Rust and technologies such as Tokio, Reqwest, Tower, and Serde
• Strong understanding of Rust ownership, lifetimes, concurrency, and error handling
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise API integrations
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0
• Experience with data transformation, schema mapping, and strongly typed data models
• Understanding of reliability patterns such as idempotency, retries, queues, and dead-letter handling
• Good knowledge of relational databases and data persistence
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC
• Experience with SAP Finance (FI/CO)
• Experience working with SAP OData, BAPI, or REST interfaces
• Experience integrating with other ERP platforms such as Oracle Fusion, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Workday
• Experience with cryptographic signatures, TLS, mTLS, or secure payload transmission
• Experience with Frappe/ERPNext or similar enterprise systems
