Senior Network Engineer (L3)

Role Summary

Seeking a highly skilled L3 Network Expert responsible for planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex enterprise network environments. The candidate will provide technical leadership for large-scale global networks spanning SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Load Balancers, Firewalls, Network Security, Data Center, and Cloud Connectivity. The role requires deep technical expertise, architecture capabilities, customer engagement experience, and leadership during major incidents and transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Design

• Design and develop scalable enterprise network architectures.
• Prepare HLDs, LLDs, migration plans, implementation guides, and SOPs.
• Lead network transformation initiatives including SD-WAN, cloud, and security modernization.
• Define network standards, best practices, and governance models.
• Perform capacity planning, network assessments, and technology refresh recommendations.

Network Implementation

• Lead deployment of enterprise WAN, LAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Load Balancers, and Firewalls.
• Execute network migrations, cutovers, and site deployments.
• Configure and optimize routing, switching, wireless, security, and application delivery infrastructure.
• Validate network performance, resiliency, redundancy, and failover mechanisms.

Advanced Troubleshooting (L3 Escalation)

• Act as final technical escalation point for critical incidents.
• Perform packet analysis using Wireshark and advanced troubleshooting tools.
• Analyze routing loops, asymmetric routing, latency, packet loss, jitter, QoS, and MTU issues.
• Identify complex issues involving BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, SD-WAN overlays, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive permanent corrective actions.

Network Operations & Service Delivery

• Support global 24x7 operations and major incident management.
• Ensure SLA compliance and service availability.
• Drive proactive monitoring and operational excellence.
• Participate in CAB reviews and change management.
• Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical leadership.

Customer & Vendor Management

• Interface with customers, OEMs, ISPs, and third-party vendors.
• Lead technical workshops and architecture reviews.
• Manage ISP escalations and service delivery issues.
• Present technical recommendations to leadership and customers.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
• Experience supporting global multi-site environments (1000+ sites preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SD-WAN, WAN, LAN, Wireless, Firewalls, and Load Balancers.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale network transformations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
