Software Engineer Intern - Summer 2027

McKesson is an impact-driven healthcare company seeking a Software Engineer Intern for its Summer 2027 program. The intern will contribute to software development projects across the lifecycle, collaborate with engineering and product teams, write and review code, resolve defects, and document technical processes.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements
• Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in accordance with established coding standards
• Assist in identifying and resolving software defects and performance issues
• Contribute to code reviews and provide constructive feedback
• Learn and apply new technologies, tools, and methodologies relevant to McKesson's software ecosystem
• Document technical designs, processes, and procedures
• Engage in team meetings, stand-ups, and other collaborative activities

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Expected graduation date of December 2027 or later
• Strong foundational understanding of software development principles and data structures
• Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, C#)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Prior internship experience or personal projects demonstrating software development aptitude is a plus
