Group Product Manager, Data Feeds

YipitData is a market research and analytics firm that transforms alternative data into strategic intelligence for investors and businesses. The Group Product Manager will lead and develop the Data Feeds product management team, own portfolio strategy and commercial performance, and directly manage a strategically important data feed initiative. The role also involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, customer experience, and scalable growth.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, coach, and grow a team of product managers, strengthening their customer discovery, strategic judgment, execution, and commercial ownership
• Establish clear product responsibilities, goals, and decision-making expectations, giving PMs the autonomy and support to own their products
• Build effective practices for planning, roadmap reviews, customer feedback, and performance measurement
• Recruit and develop talent as the team grows, while maintaining a high bar for product thinking and accountability
• Own a cohesive product portfolio strategy aligned with the broader business direction set by the Head of Data Feeds, defining how our feeds fit together, serve customer needs, and deliver differentiated value
• Guide PMs in developing product visions and roadmaps that strengthen both their individual products and the overall portfolio
• Prioritize across product roadmaps and shared capabilities, balancing customer value, commercial opportunity, and available resources; partner with the Head of Data Feeds on broader investment decisions
• Work with PMs to validate use cases and commercial demand early, including during the evaluation of new data sources
• Identify portfolio gaps, overlap, and opportunities to combine datasets, reuse methodologies, and extend products across customer segments
• Use customer feedback and product performance to recommend which offerings to scale, improve, consolidate, or retire, and lead execution of agreed decisions
• Serve as the hands-on PM for a strategically important data feed or quant-focused feed initiative, owning its vision, roadmap, requirements, and outcomes
• Lead customer discovery, investigate the underlying data, and translate customer needs into clear product decisions
• Partner with Data, Engineering, Data Science, and Quant Research to assess feasibility, shape requirements, and bring products to market
• Stay close to client evaluations and integrations, using feedback to improve the product and establish practices the broader team can reuse
• Share accountability with commercial partners for portfolio revenue growth, retention, expansion, and product economics
• Partner with Revenue, Client Strategy, Product Marketing, and Solutions Consulting on pricing, packaging, positioning, and effective sales and evaluation processes
• Build a clear portfolio story that helps customers understand which products meet their needs and how those products work together
• Balance near-term client requests with repeatable market opportunities, ensuring commitments inform a scalable roadmap
• Define and track success through customer adoption, evaluation conversion, time to value, retention, and commercial results
• Establish product expectations for data quality, coverage, timeliness, documentation, and delivery across the portfolio
• Partner with Data and Engineering on quality controls, monitoring, change management, and issue resolution
• Improve how customers discover, evaluate, onboard, integrate, and receive ongoing support for feeds, working with Applications and client-facing teams
• Ensure clients can understand each product’s methodology, limitations, historical changes, and appropriate use cases
• Help build a repeatable experience for quant and systematic customers, including the data history, consistency, and transparency required for rigorous evaluation
• Align priorities and responsibilities across Product, Data, Engineering, Research, Quant, Applications, and commercial teams
• Partner with Quant Research on systematic investor requirements and research-informed product improvements
• Work with data sourcing and partnerships teams to evaluate opportunities against customer needs, licensing constraints, quality, and economics
• Communicate strategy, tradeoffs, progress, and risks clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners

Requirements:

• Significant product management experience, typically 7+ years, including ownership of commercial data products, data feeds, or similarly data-intensive B2B products
• Experience directly managing and developing product managers, with evidence of improving both team performance and individual growth
• A track record of taking products from customer discovery through launch and scaling, with measurable customer and business outcomes
• Strong portfolio judgment: you can prioritize across products, allocate investment, and make difficult tradeoffs
• Commercial fluency, including experience contributing to pricing, packaging, revenue growth, retention, or product economics
• Hands-on analytical ability, including proficiency in SQL and comfort using Python to investigate data and assess product questions
• Technical fluency in data products, including schemas, methodologies, quality, delivery mechanisms, and the implications of product changes for clients
• Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align teams you do not directly manage
• A desire to remain a hands-on product owner while building and leading a team
• Experience with alternative data, financial data, or investment research products
• Familiarity with fundamental, quantitative, or systematic investment workflows, including dataset evaluation, backtesting, and integration
• Experience building a portfolio that serves multiple customer segments or combines multiple data sources
• Experience with third-party data partnerships, licensing considerations, and vendor dependencies
• Familiarity with APIs, cloud-based data delivery, and data quality and operational reliability practices
