Mechanical Engineering Intern

Dunster Physical AI is a deep-tech robotics company focused on building fail-safe automated hardware for real-world applications. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the design, development, prototyping, testing, and documentation of mechanical systems for advanced robotic platforms while collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with CAD modeling of components and assemblies
• Contributing to prototyping and fabrication
• Performing basic mechanical analyses and testing
• Collaborate with engineers to document designs
• Prepare drawings
• Participate in design reviews to improve reliability and performance
• Supporting ongoing projects through data collection, test reporting, and coordination with cross-functional teams

Requirements:

• Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering fundamentals, including knowledge of mechanics, materials, and machine design
• Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for modeling, drafting, and revising mechanical components and assemblies
• Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to interpret test data, troubleshoot design issues, and support engineering decisions
• Candidates should possess Communication and basic Project Management skills to collaborate with team members, document work, and manage tasks effectively
• Familiarity with prototyping tools, lab equipment, and mechanical testing methods is beneficial
• Ability to work on-site in Cambridge, MA or remotely in the United States, in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting
• Enrollment in or completion of a bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred
• Demonstrated interest in robotics, automation, or physical AI systems is a plus
