Software Engineer

Prompt.io is a technology company that helps organizations engage and activate supporters through texting, voice, and engagement tools. The Software Engineer will build, maintain, and improve the platform by developing web applications, services, APIs, and product features while ensuring reliability, scalability, and maintainability. The role involves owning technical projects, collaborating with Engineering and Product, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to development practices and code quality.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, test, and maintain production web applications, services, and APIs
• Own features and technical projects from development through deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product to scope, design, and deliver new features and improvements
• Develop and maintain services and APIs that power our applications
• Write clean, reusable, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Work across front-end and back-end systems to deliver complete solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production problems
• Contribute to the performance, scalability, reliability, and security of our applications
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and team planning
• Contribute to improving our development practices and overall code quality

Requirements:

• 1-3+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to independently contribute to production software
• Strong experience developing web applications using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as React; experience with Knockout is a plus
• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language
• Experience building and consuming APIs and working with service-based architectures
• Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with microservices and cloud-based applications
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices
• Understanding of software testing, security, performance, and maintainability
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot technical problems and deliver solutions
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
