Data Engineer - MGBCI Translational Medicine

Mass General Brigham is a not-for-profit healthcare and research organization supporting patient care, teaching, research, and community service. The Data Engineer will improve data reliability and quality by developing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and architectures for data extraction and transformation to support predictive and prescriptive modeling.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines and ETL/ELT code to support business requirements
• Maintain and optimize various components of the data pipeline architecture
• Deliver high-quality, efficient solutions to meet technical standards and industry-leading practices
• Deliver optimal technical solutions for business and operational requirements
• Participate in team design sessions and contribute options and solutions. Produce and support product documentation
• Participate in ETL Quality Circle discussions to explore, discuss, and identify efficient solutions and leading practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required
• Data warehousing development in large reporting environment(s) 2-3 years required
• Experience with developing data pipelines using on Snowflake features (Snowpipe, SnowSQL, Snow Sight, Data Streams) 2-3 years required
• Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Skilled in data analysis with Python and SQL
• Demonstrated experience using business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop)
• Solid analytical and organizational skills
• Experience working in an Agile software development environment
• Familiarity with enterprise data warehousing systems is a plus
