Principal Engineer, Probabilistic Risk Assessments - Remote Based

Westinghouse Electric Company provides clean energy solutions through nuclear technology and supports safe, clean, and efficient energy production. The Principal Engineer will perform and lead probabilistic risk assessments for complex nuclear power plant systems, manage technical project execution, interface with customers and regulators, support strategic initiatives, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments (PRA) for complex nuclear power plant systems; evaluating a plant's potential vulnerability to all risk and hazard types (i.e., seismic, fire, flooding, etc.). Assessments may support both domestic and international operating plants, as well as new reactors still in the design phase
• Lead global project teams by contributing to technical scope execution in various roles (author, mentor, verifier), as well as meeting schedule and financial objectives
• Present technical topics and interface with global customers and regulatory bodies
• Support and identify strategic initiatives, develop product offerings, and pursue target product markets
• Mentor early-career engineers and lead initiatives for knowledge management and retention

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 10+ years professional experience with minimum 7 years of experience with PRA Model development applied to nuclear plants
• Knowledge of PWR reactor operations
• In addition to basic Risk and Hazard skills, you should have a knowledge of:
• Internal/External Hazards PRAs
• Level 2 PRAs
• Human Reliability Analysis (HRA)
• Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs)
• Proficiency with PRA software (CAFTA, RiskSpectrum)
• Advanced degree and/or Professional Engineer license considered a plus
• Peer Review experience preferred
